An Evening of Drama ‘25: On 3 and 4 May 2025, the College Section Chinese Society (中文学会) successfully staged its 44th annual production. This year, we welcomed close to 2000 audience members at Gateway Theatre to witness the tireless efforts of each and every member across 12 departments.

Our theme this year is “蜕 (tuì)” or “Metamorphosis” explored humanity’s potential for profound physical, emotional and psychological change through three plays.

2025年5月3日至4日，华侨中学部中文学会成功呈献第44届年度戏剧演出。今年，我们迎来近2000名观众齐聚佳伟剧院，共同见证12个部门每一位成员倾注的汗水与热忱。

本届主题为“蜕”，通过三部戏探讨个人在时间与时代的长河之中，情感与精神的蜕变及成长。

《零度采访》delved into the conflict between the kingpin of a scam empire and an aspiring journalist, as uncomfortable truths were unveiled.

《零度采访》深入刻画了诈骗集团首脑与怀揣理想的记者之间的激烈交锋，随着残酷真相的揭露，双方展开了一场扣人心弦的博弈。

《决不放弃你》explored the meaning of courage through a whimsical journey across realms, touching hearts and stirring fits of laughter.

《决不放弃你》通过一场跨越次元的奇幻之旅，探寻勇气的真谛，既触动人心的柔软，又引发阵阵欢笑。

《小?代》examined our hawker culture across decades and dynasties, especially in celebration of Singapore’s diamond jubilee.

The final production offered not just a night of heartwarming entertainment for the audience, but also stood as a culmination of the blood, sweat, and tears of all 145 members: from the construction of hawker stalls weighing over 120kg, to the countless rounds of editing manuscripts, and finally, to the meticulous coordination of a full-scale theatrical production, every part came together in perfect harmony.

This grand celebration of theatre is a tradition uniquely cherished by Hwa Chong, and our students carry its mantle with immense pride, ensuring its legacy continues. An Evening of Drama is no longer merely a tribute to drama and the arts — it is a testament to the 自强不息 spirit of Hwa Chong students: individuals who have developed the grit and tenacity to press on, all in pursuit of a performance we can be proud of.

Even in the most exhausting moments of this long journey, we found strength — in ourselves, and in one another. The knowledge that there’s always a shoulder to lean on has pushed us to reach even greater heights. Though demanding, the experience has been richly rewarding. Lifelong friendships were forged, and cherished memories created — making it all worthwhile.

Whether on stage or behind the scenes, the extraordinary effort behind this performance has once again upheld the enduring legacy of 黄城夜韵.

《小食代》以新加坡建国六十周年为契机，穿梭古今时空，细腻呈现了小贩文化的时代变迁。

今年的《黄城夜韵》不仅为观众带来温暖人心的艺术盛宴，更凝聚着145名成员的心血结晶：从搭建重达120公斤的摊位道具，到剧本字斟句酌的反复打磨，直至最终舞台效果的精密调度——每个环节都奏响了完美的和弦。

这场戏剧盛事是华侨中学独有的文化传承。当同学们肩负起这份荣耀使命时，《黄城夜韵》便已超越对舞台艺术的礼赞，成为镌刻在每位参与者骨子里的自强不息的精神：我们用坚韧打磨演技，以执着雕琢细节，只为不辜负这座神圣的舞台。

在这段漫长征程中最疲惫的时刻，是彼此扶持的温暖让我们突破极限。尽管过程艰辛，但收获远超预期——缔结终生难忘的友谊，珍藏永不褪色的回忆，一切都是如此值得！

无论台前与幕后，全体黄城人的非凡付出，再次让《黄城夜韵》这块金字招牌焕发璀璨光芒！
